October 6, Saturday
Here’s the major planetary breakdown and dance for the period:
On October 6, 2007 the Sun will be in Libra (of course, lovely sign of partnership and harmony and justice) while the Moon is in generous, bold, courageous Leo.
The Moon is conjunct Venus, also in Leo, which should be good for fun times, open affection, and noble, dramatic adventures. This combination is great for show time, for drama, for display of warm affection, and for having a lot of fun. Extravagance, the grand gesture, the gathering of friends—all very Leo.
However, Saturn is also fairly close to Venus (in early Virgo); people should not be too hasty to take affections lightly; this is a time in which serious friendships and lasting bonds could be formed or deepened. Activity—dancing, jumping around, doing things with harmony and joy—these are very supported by Saturn in Virgo.
The moon, Venus, and Saturn are in the house of sexuality, death and transformation.; the natural Scorpio house at one in the afternoon. This is also the house of connection to tradition; it would be well perhaps to start the event with some note of tradition and seriousness, to set a noble and fun tone if you can combine these.
Mercury, ruling the thoughtwaves and communications, is going to be in mystery loving, secret keeping, powerful Scorpio, and it is going to be dancing with Juno in Scorpio, the asteroid that is all about our natural partners and allies.
Neptune is in Aquarius, opposite Venus and the Moon. The Venus/Neptune opposition can lead to unrealistic but very charming romantic inclinations, to great empathy with others, and to hoping for the best in everything. Neptune/Moon does something similar, but also increases imagination and delight in poetry and fantasy; it would be a wonderful time for costume and dance.
Pluto in Sagittarius is just zapping Venus and the Moon with power (and again, embracing secrets, mysteries, hidden delights).
(Pluto is trine Venus/Moon)
The Sun is given creative and sentimental energy from Neptune in Aquarius, which is trine. The big picture, the grand theory, how do we all communicate and benefit each other—very much part of the days.
Mars is in Cancer—extra sensitive; beware of hurt feelings and passive aggression. It is opposite Pluto, so there may be temptations to indulge in temper and in risky activities—neither is a great idea. Mars is under some guidance from Saturn, so maybe he’ll behave—but be aware. Those with a strong Cancer or Sagittarius portion in their own birthcharts may be particularly feeling like they want to go just a bit too far, or demand a bit more than is wise. Be careful, okay? An abundance of good things to eat would be very helpful in keeping Mars in Cancer happy; also a quiet spot for those who need to get away from all the festivities now and again.
Some of the interesting sky patterns of the day include:
Venus/Moon opposite Neptune. This is going to make for an increase in romantic vibes, in sensitivity, in wistful longing and enjoyment of illusions. Please note the “illusions” part, because some of what is going on may fade away at dawn—but it is all pretty and nice and fun, so enjoy it.
People inclined to sentimentality are going to be feeling even more sentimental during this evening, and there could be a twinge or two of nostalgia. Just a few sighs.
(I think ample chocolate will help with this)
There is a quirky quincunx going on between Uranus and the Sun during this period, and that aspect is kind of “anything goes, and watch for the wildcards”.
Some of the feelings of the evening may be all about claiming your inner eccentric, with Chiron in Aquarius challenging people to accept their oddball sides, and to heal any feelings around “oh, I was the strange changeling and no one wanted to play with me”. During the Irie Boogie everyone gets to play.
At one in the afternoon on the 6th Sagittarius is the rising sign, so the spirit of adventure and good friendship will be blessing the scene. Pluto is right there at the ascendant: mystery, detective work, power—an auspicious moment. The sun is shining at the midheaven, the moon and friends are playing footsie in the house of secrets and sexuality and life and death and the meaning of everything…and the asteroid Ceres is lingering in the 5th house, making certain that fun and romance are on the agenda. At one PM on October 6, Sagittarius is rising and Pluto is in the first house. Jupiter is in the 12th house, kind of a fairy godfather for a risky moment in the cosmos in which there is a lot of power going on; a very dramatic start to the event.
By 6 PM the ascendant is in Pisces: romance, poetry, sensitivity are on the stage. And the Sun is in the house of partnerships of all sorts while the Moon and friends are hanging out in the house of service towards others and wholeness.
Mercury has flitted to the 8th house: time to talk about those secrets, time to embrace your true partners, time to speak with authority and verve (Mercury is trine both Mars and Uranus at this time). With Uranus in the 12th house and the asteroid Pallas also there at this time, finding out what is beneath the surface—in your heart, in your mind—is really going to be easy. And maybe just a bit shocking.
Chiron has flitted to the 11th house: heal any feelings about being left out of groups, think about your lost life goals—you can reclaim them tonight. Extend some affection to those around you.
At 10PM Saturday the rising sign is Gemini: inquisitive, communicative, fun. Mars is in the first house, and the Mars-Pluto opposition is threaded from self to partners, so be loving and aware of those you are partnered with, or with whom you’d like to be part of a team (doesn’t just limit itself to romantic partnerships).
The Moon, Venus, and Saturn at this time are in the house of home. Where are your foundations? What is your home? How will you honor and love it? What do you care for?
And the Sun is brightly shining in the house of fun, romance, creativity, and children. Time to awaken a lot of joy. With Uranus in the 10th house this is also a time of quirkiness and wildcard energy—just about anything goes.
At one in the morning Sunday, late Cancer is rising. Now it is the Sun in the house of home, continuing to light up questions of “where is home and what is home” Venus, the Moon (now edging into the sign of Virgo) and Saturn are all in the house of what is valued. Perhaps if people are leaving the party they need to first take a moment and cherish whatever it is that they will take with them—good fellowship, pleasure, deeper connections.
Jupiter in the 5th house is still making certain everyone is having a good time, indeed expanding romance, creativity, and fun.
Uranus is in the house of travel at this moment, so—expect the unexpected, perhaps, as you journey, and journey safely.
By the next day at 8AM Libra is rising and the sun is in the 12th house. Secrets yet to discover? The sun shines the light on them. Mercury is in the first house now—you can speak and understand pretty directly, and fearlessly. The moon and friends are cuddled in the house of friendship now—and the moon has left bold Leo for more contemplative Virgo, growing closer to Saturn (indeed, absolutely conjunct). Maybe awakened senses of responsibility towards your friends and your goals. Venus is still on hand to sweeten all this very much.
Uranus at this moment is in the house of fun and romance (anything might happen). It is trine Mercury, so you’ll all have a whole lot to talk about; it is square Jupiter (might be restlessness—hey, don’t jump off that bridge, the water isn’t quite deep enough. Be wise, dears.)
Most of the energy over this weekend is in water signs: emotional intensity, emotional responses may be fairly strong.
